First the bad news that could be good.Gardening and landscaping has been my trade for the last 20 yrs I've grown halbreneros and jalapenos from seed without the aid of greenhouses, seedling heat mats or any special treatment successfully. These plants are a pain to grow in Northern California. Insects, cold snaps(50 degrees or lower!)and my rough handling(moving the potted plants and tearing small earth bound roots) have caused everything from mild shock to death. I'm sure not everyone is having
as hard a time growing the hot pepper however I have heard similar complaints.
This could be good for the market if you are a farmer or salesman. Hard to grow-higher price, maybe?
At first I offered plants for sale @$5.00 to $20. Now I would not sell them for less than $100.00 a piece. Not planning on selling any bhut jolokia plants focus is now on getting hot peppers and seeds to sell.
The not so bad news is that I am not seeing the interest in growing the hottest pepper in the world or the pepper itself offered at any markets at least here in California. So to any farmers or distributors out there contact us at the address below. I am willing to promote your product while Growing the hottest pepper in California.
Plant wilted immediately after moving the pot tore some hair-like roots touching the ground.
Root bound bhut jolokias need transplanting. Bugs, cold and rough handling has taken
its toll on the small greenhouse of hot peppers.
Running out of pots, 3 go in the ground. Transplants will increase as the plants outgrow the pots.
